Amazon’s Safelite is a $5.5B business for the US
Amazon is reportedly in talks to acquire Safelift, a cloud storage company that’s used by companies like Airbnb, Spotify, Spotify Premium and Dropbox.
The deal would combine Amazon’s cloud storage platform with Safelifts revenue streams, according to a report from Axios.
The acquisition is expected to be announced by the end of this month, with Amazon likely to announce the deal in the next few weeks.
Amazon has also reportedly been working on a deal with Safeline, an online travel booking site, but that deal is also expected to not be finalized.
According to Axios, Amazon is looking to take a more integrated approach to its business, as it sees Safelites revenue as a key driver of the company’s future.
The company has been looking for a way to expand its cloud storage offering and has also looked to secure the business of the online travel site Airbnb.
With the recent closure of the Safeloves offline app, Safelive users have had to rely on other platforms for online travel information.
Amazon reportedly sees Safels revenue as being a key reason why the company has continued to expand in the cloud storage space.
Safelove customers use the app to book trips and arrange hotel reservations, and Amazon has reportedly invested millions in the company.
